Union Health Benefits Resources

Care Built for Union Workers. Backed by Advocacy. Focused on You.

Who we are

Union workers helped build and protect our nation. Many paid the price with their health.

Since the Manhattan Project, more than a million Americans—including countless union workers—have supported our nation’s nuclear defense. Many were exposed to toxic substances like asbestos, beryllium, and heavy metals, leading to serious illnesses years later.

To honor this service, Congress created the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) in 2001. The program offers:

Nuclear Care Partners Serves Union Members Who:

Worked in DOE or atomic weapons facilities in roles such as carpenters, welders, pipefitters, plumbers, electricians, and so many others.
Have been diagnosed with cancer, COPD, CKD, or other illnesses caused by toxic workplace exposure
Want to receive both compensation and no-cost medical care for approved diagnoses
