Once under control by Atomics International, a subsidiary of North American Aviation (NAA), the Canoga Avenue Facility was used for aerospace safety and the exploration of nuclear fuels and radiochemistry. The research was initiated at the Downey Facility and then moved to Canoga Park in 1955.
